She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Health Psychology from The Chicago School and has trained in a variety of clinical settings serving adults, college students, adolescents, couples, and individuals with diverse mental health and neurodevelopmental needs. Her experience includes individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, psychological and neuropsychological assessment, and interdisciplinary care.

Melia’s therapeutic style is person-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based, while thoughtfully incorporating evidence-based approaches such as DBT, ACT, trauma-informed care, and emotion regulation skills. Her clinical practice centers on helping clients better understand how they relate to themselves, others, and the world around them, creating space for greater self-awareness, meaningful insight, and lasting change. She has experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, substance use concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, grief, school avoidance, and life transitions.

Melia has a particular interest in relationship concerns, identity development, life transitions, substance use, and neurodiversity-affirming care. She has received specialized experience providing autism, ADHD, and learning disorder evaluations through a neurodiversity-affirming lens and has also provided training and consultation to other clinicians in neurodiversity-affirming practices. During her APA-accredited doctoral internship at Southern Utah University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, she provided individual and group therapy, crisis services, psychological assessment, and campus outreach to a diverse college student population.

She is passionate about creating a therapeutic environment in which clients feel understood, respected, and empowered to develop a deeper understanding of themselves while moving toward the lives and relationships that feel most meaningful to them.
