    Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)

    Emma Dangaard (she/her) is an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) at California Counseling Clinics, who believes in the power of authentic connection and the transformative impact of therapy. With an extensive background working with youth and families in settings from schools to residential treatment centers, Emma has always been particularly passionate and fond of working with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, substance abuse, self-esteem challenges, traumas, and relational issues. She encourages and supports clients in discovering their creativity, passions, and resilience as they navigate their journey into adulthood. In her work, she most often draws upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), compassion-based practices, emotion-focused, solution-focused, and experiential modalities, especially art and play therapy. Her therapeutic approach is tailored individually to each client and their specific needs to create a safe, non-judgmental, and empowering therapeutic space for clients to explore their inner worlds with care and compassion. Emma has obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Juvenile Rehabilitation Studies from California Polytechnic University, Humboldt, as well as her Master’s Degree in Social Work from California State University, Northridge.
