Dr. Parker Turek, M.S., PsyD. | Doctoral Intern
Parker Turek, M.S. (he/him/his), is a doctoral intern, transitioning to a postdoctoral fellow at California Counseling Clinics. He is earning his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from California Lutheran University and is currently completing his doctoral supervised hours toward licensure. Parker’s therapeutic style is strengths-based, collaborative, and individualized, with an emphasis on creating a safe and supportive environment for each patient. His approach integrates cognitive-behavioral, trauma-focused, acceptance and commitment, dialectical behavior, and person-centered therapies. Parker is passionate about empowering patients by building a strong therapeutic relationship, identifying and developing their strengths, and tailoring treatment to their individual needs and goals. Parker completed his APA-accredited internship at Southwest Behavioral & Health Services in Prescott Valley, Arizona, where he received specialized training in rural community mental health and worked with patients presenting with complex needs, including serious mental illness, co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, chronic mood disorders, and trauma. Throughout his training, he has also gained experience in neuropsychological assessment, treatment of co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns, and the delivery of mental health care within an academic medical center.
