Christine Barrett
Christine Barrett, B.A. (she/her), is a clinical psychology extern at California Counseling Clinics gaining supervised clinical experience. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at California Lutheran University and previously earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a minor in Applied Psychology, from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Christine’s clinical training includes DBT-informed psychotherapy, suicide risk assessment and safety planning, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and measurement-based treatment. She has experience providing individual therapy to adults with mood disorders, trauma histories, suicidal behaviors, and emotion dysregulation, as well as leading DBT skills groups focused on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Her background also includes work in community behavioral health, interpersonal violence intervention, care coordination, crisis advocacy, and support for individuals and families impacted by trauma, domestic violence, and foster care involvement. Christine approaches clinical work with warmth, collaboration, and a commitment to helping clients build insight, coping skills, and meaningful change.
